Nimbus is in the classic Jazz Real Book 1 but it’s structure is not classic.
It’s in minor and the chords loops in 3rd minor steps : C-7 > Eb-7 > F#-7 > A-7
Pianoteq’s Syngular is a string based model, different from Arturia’s synth models.

HI @francoise
Yep i hear the Chris Rea influence in there ok!
This is much more interesting than Chris Rea though i think, it’s got a sort of ‘UK Garage 2 Step’ vibe going on in there too, as well as the really nice EP chords and key changes.
I think it would be WELL worth spending a bit more time developing it even more, maybe leave it for a little while, let it ‘mature in the mind’ and come back to it?
‘Numbus’ is nice enough, it’s not grabbing me as much as the previous track though.
There are some nice Jazz ‘sensibilities’ going on in it though.
Thank you Mat, I’ll mature the first piece. The Pigments 7 Vapor pad is really nice.
The second one seemed interesting for it’s particular chord progression.
Have a nice time during the Christmas Holidays!
To me it’s a dark time: my son came back from Switzerland where he was studying dying from a brain tumor, a few years ago.
I’m not responsible, Mat!
Chris Rea died on Monday. Maybe he didn’t appreciate my evocation.
Or maybe it’s a resonance from our string universe.
He was of Italian and Irish origin; I’m of Normand and Irish origin.
Rather strangely, i was watching a ‘quiz show’, i use the phrase loosely in this case, and there was a question asking where he was born.
The show was likely recorded some months ago.
It’s pure coincidence, of course.
Yes, i don’ t mind a bit of Garage when i’m in the mood for it.
There’s quite an amusing ‘mockumentary’ on BBC iPlayer if you can access it, it’s called ‘people just do nothing’, it does deal with some rather adult themes though if anyone is easily offended.
That’s based around a pirate radio station that plays garage.
It’s on YouTube, with MC Grindah
I’ll have to listen with headphones: the accent is not as heavy as John Hannah’s in Rebus but still needs a lot of attention.
