Pad sounds with long attack & release envelopes getting cut off

I’m trying to create a track which uses a Pigments pad with slow attack & release times on the amp envelopes to give a washy floating feel to it so the chords fade in and out and blend into one another. On the whole it works as expected and the chords do blend into each other but occasionally I hear a more abrupt cutoff between chord changes instead of a slow fade out.

What do I need to be looking at to make sure all chords finish their release envelopes every time I change chords? My initial guess was increasing Play Mode polyphony to max (32) but I still hear a more abrupt cutoff after every few chord changes.

Hi @tbmmbt. Welcome to the community.

Beside increasing the polyphony voices.
Have you also tried to change Voicing Play mode/ Voice Mode?

Thanks for the quick response @LBH!

So this would be the difference between setting Voice Mode to either Reassign or Rotate? I’ve tried changing it to Rotate and I think that does seem to have helped!

I’ll experiment a bit more to make sure but hopefully that will do the trick. I’m guessing that Rotate mode is likely to be a bit more CPU intensive?

Thank you!

You are welcome @tbmmbt.

Yes.

Yes that can be the case.

In generel - the more voices playing at the same time the more CPU usage.
