Opening Separate Arturia Plugins That Aren't Analog Lab

So, I’m trying to open individual Arturia plugins (not Analog Lab) but the KeyLab appears to only focus on the first plugin that I load, it shows it on the KeyLab screen but not the next plugin, or the next plugin, etc.

However, what I’m trying to do does work with multiple instances of Analog Lab. BUT, here’s the issue and exactly why I’m wanting to load individual plugins — in Analog Lab, say you load Pigments and you wanna browse the Leads, Bass or the Pads in JUST Pigments, you can’t! It brings you right back to the start where you choose which Type, Instrument, Genre, or Bank you want. Sure, you can use your mouse and filter it that way but isn’t the whole reason why we have this keyboard is to be able to do simple stuff like this on the keyboard itself?

Any help greatly appreciated!

This is a known bug in the current driver / firmware (at least with Ableton live).

I had a long conversation with one of the Arturia support guys about this already weeks ago and I was desperately waiting for the Firmware update to fix this.
Firmware update is now available, problem still exists.
Bummer.
They don’t reach up to what they promised and what we paid for.

Pretty darn mind-blowing how this wasn’t fleshed out before they even released it.

Do you also have the full instrument for Pigments? If you do, you can go into the editor in Analog Labs, then you can get through to a view that is just Pigments - I’m not sure if you can then access just the Pigments library (not in my studio at the mo)

This is exactly the issue I am explaining here. You can access any library you have in Analog Lab, you just can’t go into the specifics in that said library. You’re forced with having to browse the Leads (or any other type of sound) of every single library which is very unintuitive.

If I pick a sound in Analog labs - e.g. Additive 808, this loads a preset from Pigments.

If I then click on the library icon next to the preset name in the top menu - 4 lines with one at an angle.

This then takes me to the Explore Page, On the right hand side I see a graphic of Pigments. Underneath the graphic at the bottom of the screen is a button that says ‘edit preset’.

If I click this, it loads up an FX rack with pedals.

Top left is a graphic of Pigments and two buttons 'Open and ‘Replace’ - if I click Open it opens up Pigments full screen - and if I click on the preset box I now get all the Pigment presets, exactly the same as in stand alone pigments?

Is this not what you were after?
(I’m on Cubase 14 and Win 11 BTW…and I own Pigments as well as Analog Labs)

Of course. But here’s the thing, you’re using your computers mouse to do all of that. The whole point of this keyboard is to able to do all of that within KeyLab itself. That is what this keyboard should be able to do and because it can’t – and until a firmware update potentially addresses this issue – it’s a half-assed product in terms of its functionality. Aside from that, I still enjoy the controller, however.

I am also on Cubase 14 but using Windows 10. Try and load more than 2 Arturia VSTs that aren’t Analog Lab and tell me if you’re able to control any of the one’s after the first one you loaded using KeyLab only. On KeyLab, it only seems to focus on the first VST you load which is a bummer. But as I stated, it works with multiple instances of Analog Lab, though.

It seems like whatever software integration they’ve implemented within Analog Lab and the KeyLab to both interact with each other is unique (hence being able to load numerous instances of Analog Lab and each one is recognizable by KeyLab in your DAW) and one can only imagine that if they’ve added that software code or whatever it is into every other plugin, that would fix the issue. Or just simply being able to specifically navigate individual instruments within Analog Lab, either or.

Ah OK - got you. - yes I waa describing the mouse experience - not the on keyboard menu.

Yes, I have all the same issues as you do - and agree that the promise of functionality in the marketing and even the specific Arturia Cubase videos was misleading.

Like you - I’m also enjoying the keyboard - just that I specificically chose an Arturia product because of the ‘seamless’ integration with Arturia VSTis.

I feel your pain. As stated in my post about this situation, I am hoping that an update resolves this Cubase (and apparently Ableton, which is a freebie with the keyboard!) issue soon. I just got the keylab a few weeks ago. I do like it for the most part. But, I’m still also a few weeks from the end of my return window for it, and I’m still debating whether I want to just bite the bullet and spend a few more dollars on a controller from another company… Part of me feels quite ripped off by the misleading (this word seems to be used a lot for the mk3) videos and promotional material. The thing is 80% awesome. but, that other 20% is very disturbing. If I do keep it, I can only hope that the next update resolves the issue. Otherwise… Well… Very disappointing.
