Octave / semitone shift with single part preset

Can you edit a single part preset to octave or semitone shift it. If so, I don’t see any option available to do this. If I manually shift it using the front panel buttons and then save the preset will it stay modified accordingly?

This kind of capability is essential in 61 key keyboards due to their limited key range.

Yes, you can program individual Part’s Octave and Semitone transpose for each preset, either:

  • in Analog Lab, in the “Keyb. Settings” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • in AstroLab, in the MIDI menu (Shift + Split)

Sorry, when you transpose with Shift+Split inside a Song on Astrolab it’s not saved when you change to another Song. How do you make this change permanent?

You have to save the edited preset to retain the changes.

Note that when you are in Playlist mode and you make adjustments to a preset in a Playlist, you can press Shift+Playlist (Save) and choose:

  • Save: to save the edited preset only in the Playlist (does not affect the original preset in the Library)
  • Save As: to save the edited preset in the user Library in AstroLab (that does not change the Playlist).
