I happened to be reading an article today on Modular V and wanted to open up the instrument to follow along. However even though I have a V Collection X license I am only seeing Modular V3. Does this mean I have an older version of the instrument? Or am I just confused by the naming convention, i.e., where Modular V3 is not “version” 3 but version 5.3?
I also see this for other instruments like Piano V (my installed version is V3). Can someone please clarify? Thanks!
Hi @briantully. Welcome back.
The only Arturia application that have had a version 5.3 is Analog Lab. It’s on version 5.10.4852 now.
Are you sure the article you mention is’nt about using Modular V inside Analog Lab?
Piano V and Modular V is in the V3 versions phase.
If you have downloaded the latest versions in V-Collection X, then you have the latest version of each instrument.
The individual instruments are not in the same version phase. For example are the newest versions of the newest instruments still in the V(1) phase.
You’re the second person in a week to be confused by Arturia’s ‘V’ naming convention, which is just the name Arturia gives to software synths that are software-emulations of physical hardware (hence why such as Pigments is not Pigments V…it only exists as a software synth). In retrospect Arturia did not fully think this through, considering it was obvious from day 1 that their software synths would develop into different versions, leading to confusion.
Thanks for the clarification, Jon. Much appreciated!
