No Mini V4 on ALP?

Hi, yesterday I got the Keylab Mk3 (49) with ALP and Mini V4 (and others of course) included. When trying to open Mini from a Mini ALP-preset it tells me, that Mini V3 must be installed to open the plugin. It works fine with Modular (which I had before). I don’t have a Mini V3 license, so… is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

Thanks Andreas.

You answered your own question. Unless you have a Mini V3 licence, you will be unable to edit the patches and, as Mini V4 was a rewrite of the sound engine, it is unable to open Mini V3 patches ie, is not backward compatible. If you really need to edit V3 patches you would need to purchase a licence. I am not sure that is possible now from Arturia but someone may sell one privately.

but these aren‘t any own or third party presets. i‘m talking about the ALP-included presets (or the ones installed with Mini V4) and most likely all of them (tested at least a few). i somehow would assume arturia updated this with updating ALP. still strange…

Hi @dflt,

You can open the Mini V4 presets inside Analog Lab and with your Mini V4. The mini V (no version number) presets are presets from the latest version.

Arturia can’t just remove older presets that’s not compatible with a newer reworked application that even sound different. Some people own and use those sounds and perhaps also the old applications, and may still like me on windows be able to still use it all.

Thanks for the explanation!
I didn‘t find a way to see which presets are v3 and which are v4.
But i uninstalled everything and reinstalled. Now it‘s less Mini-presets. I guess i had some presets installed with an older version of analog lab intro.
Though reinstalling ALP also created a Mini v3 folder in the arturia preset-folder, which doesn‘t include the 3 presets (Mini 808, Filtered Bass and another one) that still ask for v3. I can live with that…
Thanks both of you! It seems i expected more cleaning up by ASC

You are welcome @dflt.

You can show and sort by instrument in the browser. Just like by designer.

I forgot.
There is a “Include Legacy Presets” feature in the Main menu at the top left of Analog Lab. If that’s enabled, then Presets for legacy applications appear.

I don‘t see „Mini v3“ or „Mini v4“ only „Mini“…
and „legacy presets“ is disabled

Then it look like you have removed and/or disabled all legacy presets.

EDIT: I attach an img that show the instrument the preset is from in Analog Lab.

thanks! I found where to switch the view, to see the instrument… I just saw the sound designer before.
i deleted everything Arturia from my Mac mini and reinstalled everything (except AL Intro of course) and the V3 presets are there again. pretty annoying, because when I filter by instrument on the Keylab (or even in ALP) I only see “Mini”. So I might find a suitable preset and later I have to find out, I can’t edit it…
“Include legacy presets” is not activated.

but I guess, there’s nothing I can do except to accept it

I think there is a bug in the “Include Legacy Preset” feature, so only some legacy presets are being excluded, when it’s not switched on.
You can contact Arturia support about this, if you wish.

yep, will do this!
