Using Mini V with my keylab mk3, I cannot see the after-touch on the (notes) keys (in the special effect rack), while I can see it for the 12 pads… is it expected ? I
Hi @ALeX1 ,
Keylab MK3 have Channel Aftertouch for the keys - it’s not set pr note. Keylab MK3 Essential have no Aftertouch for the keys. Are you sure you don’t have the Essential?
I’m not sure what you mean by Speciel Effect rack, and you can see the Pads there.
Mini V4 have Aftertouch modulation option. Aftertouch is preset based and can be set in Mini V4’s Advanced/ Keyboard section.
Hi @LBH,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have the regular Keylab 61 mk33, not the essential one.
In the Mini V, sorry for my poor wording here, I was talking about the advanced panel that appears on the top, in the keyboard section. I was trying to use it to modulate some parameters. Here I can see the aftertouch on the 12 pads, but for a note, no move for the aftertouch
Then maybe I’m not clear with this “Keylab MK3 have Channel Aftertouch for the keys - it’s not set per note.”
My expectation was : when I press a note (ie a key like C3 - right ?), if I keep pressing it after it reached the bottom, an after-touch would be detected allowing some effects.
This works with the pads : the stronger I press, the display shows a pressure level… but nothing for a note…
Others keys params are well indicated here : velocity, kbd tracking, mod wheel, all fine for these 3…
If the aftertouch on your pads have an effect, then the aftertouch from the keys also should have an effect.
Have you checked the settings for the Keys aftertouch? Please consult the keylab MK3 manual section “5.4.1.1. Global Curves”.
At this point with the available informations i can’t rule out, you have a defect controller.
I hope not a defective one - I got it just a few weeks ago :((
The curves are default linear for Key and Pad aftertouch (same setting exactly), so indeed behaviour shd be the same…
30 min later…
Well, well, well… I’m really dumb !! or a newbie, the same…
Very sorry for this all… Checked it all as you advised (and more) and realised I just did not press hard enough on the keys !!
(it’s my first midi controller, still feel it a bit fragile and I’m learning it all…)
Thank you a lot for your patience !
Glad it’s not a defect. Thanks for letting us know.
