New firmware... when?

And here’s the explanation for the 12-bit and the 6 sec.: (from a AI—but you have to press for more details, otherwise it’ll “lie” to you):
“It’s not the number of basic oscillators or the filter, but rather the data throughput in RAM during polyphonic granular modulation and the additional load from the stereo effect processors that forced Arturia to settle for 12-bit resolution in the MiniFreak.”

If that’s the explanation, then I understand why it took a little longer. It seems the built-in hardware (2 ARM CPUs) for the sample-based playback and granular synthesis system had its own performance issues that needed to be resolved, and reducing the sample buffer to 6 seconds and 12-bit resolution was likely one step toward that solution.

I don’t know why there’s a 6 second limit, but it’s not THAT. That’s just mumbo jumbo. The LLM has absolutely no knowledge of how any of that works and hallucinates freely. Just out of curiosity, I asked Gemini and it spewed even worse BS, and when pressed it admitted that it was just making it all up (the LLMs are yes-men and will output anything to please the prompter).

Oh yes!
Gemini confidently informed me that the emphasis screw on an LA2a is for preventing sub bass from triggering compression and that a DBX160a has a faster attack time than a UA 1176…
Take with a bag of salt…
