Hi everyone, I hope you can help me because I don’t know what else to do with this problem. My sustain pedal sounds like a drums hi-hat. I’ve tried different pedals and still, I’ve even reset it, but nothing changes…
I’m new to this world, so I don’t know much about it. I wanted to learn with this keyboard because I’m a pianist, but haven’t been able to learn how to use it because of this problem.
Greetings from Chile!
Hi @murieldelarrayan and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
Could you be a little more specific, please?
Is it that you’re hearing actual hi-hat sounds coming from the device that’s connected to your KL-88?
Could you tell us about your setup please, what your KL-88 is connected to and how it is connected? Are you using a computer and DAW, if so what type of computer and which DAW etc.
HTH!
Thank you so much for your attention and help. I’m connecting the KL-88 directly to my Mac and using Reaper.
And yes, I hear the hi-hat sound every time I press the sustain pedal :/. I’ve already asked my producer friends, and no one knows what’s going on, so this community is my last chance.
I hope you can help me.
HI again @murieldelarrayan
The high-hat sound is coming from somewhere, so let’s try and track it down.
I am a Windows user, so am unfamiliar with Mac OS, but there are a few things we can try to determine the issue.
Have you tried one of the standalone instruments so Reaper is taken out of the equation?
That will tell us if it’s something within Reaper if it disappears, and that it’s something ‘systemic’ if it doesn’t. I have a feeling it SHOULD if you try a standalone instrument.
One quick thought, i don’t use Reaper either, but your KL88 wouldn’t happen to be on Midi channel 10 by any chance?
Please check both of those things and let us know the outcome.
HTH!
