There is Half Pedals. An acoustic Piano is’nt on/ off. Some midi applications can replicate this, when using a continuos midi CC pedal. I think it could be the default setting the sustain pedal.
Same here. I thought it was my sustain pedal but I am definitely getting some jittery timing when (and only if) I use the pedal. I calibrated the pedal but still the same. I hope it’s a software issue and can be fixed with an update.
I’am having the same problem!!! I’ve juste got my new Mk3 49. I’m using a brand new Macbook Pro M3 with very few softwares installed (logic pro, Analog Lab, etc) and this problem is realy annoying. i was afraid that I was going crazy lol, but I am glad I find this post.
The problem like you said happenning only when using the Sustain Pedal, I tried two diferents that works OK with my Essential MK3 (I bought the new Mk3 because the essential is very cheap construction, more like a toy… anyway) But in the essential zero problems, using or not the sustain pedal.
I tried other cables
I tried desactivate several features, like aftertouch (changing the sensibility etc)
I tried restart the defaut parameters
I am using the new firmware 1.0.4
Well I hope arturia finds the solution very soon, otherwise I will send back this and buy another brand. As simple as that.
Hi! Just to confirm I have also had this issue on my KeyLab Mk3 and I traced it back to the Sustain pedal in DAW and Arturia modes.
I have had a fair amount of engagement with Arturia support and explained the issue to them too.
I think the problem has to do with the Hold function which seems to be mapped with Sustain. Whenever I use my sustain pedal in either momentary / continuous mode in DAW or Arturia mode, the Hold button lights up - which suggests that the sustain function is mapped to Hold. I think the “smart” hold thing which allows you to hold each chord / note as and when played is clashing with the ordinary sustain function being sent by the pedal.
When I use a User program, the sustain pedal is not pre-mapped to hold and is able to be used in both Momentary and Continuous modes. Just wanted to add to say that the difference between momentary and continuous isn’t so much the thing as it is the link to Hold - something I have tried to explain a few times to Arturia support.
Really hoping this is fixed as I need to switch to a User program each time I want to capture a performance - basically rendering the Arturia presets redundant.
I was trying figure it out how solve this problem and I think that the default configuration of the Pedal Sustain is causing the problem, like DeathBowler told something linked to the Hold function.
If you open the MIDI Control Center and check the function of the pedal sustain, you will find as default: SWITCHED CONTROL, if you change this to CONTROL, you will have no more problem!
But this will solve the problem only when you are using a USER configuration, if you go back to the ARTURIA ou DAW mode the problem is back.
Someone knows if we can change the PEDALS configuration of the modes ARTURIA and DAW? If we can, the problem is solved. Otherwise you will be limited in functions
I also contacted customer support regarding this (which were btw. amazing, super helpful and responsive). According to my understanding the temporary fix is to change the sustain settings in User Mode settings from SWITCHED CONTROL to CONTROL, as some have explained here already. For the complete fix we will have to wait for a firmware fix, which should be provided asap.
Signed up to this forum specifically for this problem. Received my Mk3 last week, replacing my Essential and was having these random latency issues as well. I’m glad it’s not just me. I’m on windows and the problem occurs in every plugin, not just Arturia’s.
I was also fooling around with the sustain settings in the midi control center and could only manage to invert my Roland pedal in the User-mode.
But, while most settings on the Keylab are greyed out in the Arturia-mode, they can be accessed in the User-mode. So I managed to invert the sustain min. and max. values in User-mode in the settings on the Keylab. Then I switched to Arturia-mode and for some reason sustain was inverted in that mode as well.
So currently the sustain pedal works as it should in every mode, apart from the random latency issues that hopefully get solved quickly.
Just wanted to chime in on this same issue. I received my Mk3 a few days ago and have been struggling to figure out what has been causing this subtle occasional latency issue which I’ve never had with my MK2 same setup. Just found this forum today and I changed the sustain to “control” like mentioned in previous posts and seems to be a temp fix.
Looks like a new ASC release just came out. V5.10.6
But I didn’t see anything referencing Sustain Pedel issue or fix.
Am I correct about this? (I don’t see Dates on the version.)
Updated ASC to version V5.10.6 yesterday. Didn’t help solving the latency issues on the Keylab. We need a firmware update specifically for the Keylab to solve it.
In the website Arturia, the firmware wasn’t updated yet, still in version 1.0.4 in website. I contacted the support service and they told-me that this will be fixed in the next firmware, that should be released in some weeks…
