Minilab 3 Shift Button Surprisingly doesn't access another bank of Faders and Knobs?

Hi.

I’ve just bought a Minilab 3 (with V-Synth Collection) and it is awesome, but I was quite surprised that the Shift Button does not allow access to a second set of Faders and Knobs?!

Is this something that will never happen in Firmware, or does anyone know if it works but you have to set it up yourself somehow?

I’d love to be able to hold the Shift button and use the faders to move the Filter Envelopes in my Arturia V Synths - Faders without Shift button set up to adjust the Amp Envelopes of course! I have no space to put a bigger keyboard and this seems like a massive missed opportunity by Arturia if it’s missing?

Many thanks for any replies.

Hi AlexIndie - thanks for posting on the forum!
Does this section from the MiniLab 3 manual help?
It seems you can switch between Arturia instrument control and DAW control modes.

@joseph.arturia it looks like @AlexIndie’s suggesting is more akin to a feature request for having a separate bank of Faders whenever “Shift” button is held.

  • when Shift is not held, Faders 1-4 control ADSR for Filter,
  • when Shift is held, Faders 1-4 control ADSR for Env,
  • supposedly the same for encoders,

Which would eventually let think of Minilab3 as 16 encoders, 8 faders controller vs. 8 encoders, 4 faders that is available now.

That would be a great thing to add to Minilab3 and feels like something that could really be implemented via a firmware update, given that it requires assigning a separate set of CCs/NRPNs for when Shift is held for the encoders/faders.
In essence, this is the same as Pad A/Pad B but for other components.
