Minifuse 1 Static Noise Problem

I bought like 6-7 months ago a Minifuse 1 and it was pretty sweet I had no problems with it.

Today when I open my laptop I hear a static noise and I wasn’t sure what was the problem, I tried every troubleshoot tutorial, I upgraded every driver, I tried to connect from another PC, and still is here.

Is any fix for this problem?

Thanks!

Hi @shoniwum and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

Could you list your system spec and settings for us please as it’ll help us to help you.

About 99% of the time, when people post things along these lines it’s down to their driver settings.

Are you using the correct driver for your MF?
Have you tried changing the buffer size to a larger one to see if it still occurs?

You can list your spec in your user area so it will show up if someone clicks on your user name, or you can just list it in this post.

The former is a good idea though as you only need to do it once and maybe update it if and when it changes.

HTH!

Hello,

Here are my specs:

Gigabyte G7 MF (Laptop)
Intel® Core™ i5-12500H 2.50GHz
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6
Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-M50X

Settings:

Buffer Size: 2048
Safe Mode: ON

I installed MF drivers and didn’t work, I also tried to change the buffer size and still it’s the same.

Thanks!

HI again @shoniwum

Is this happening in a windows ‘desktop’ session, i.e. when you’re not using ‘music software’ such as a DAW? Also, could you list which DAW(s) you are using too please.

Which other driver are you using instead of the MF one?

We need you to be MUCH more specific here if we are going to be able to help you.

Does this happen when you try and play music with Win Media player too?

2048 does sound like quite a high buffer size and could suggest you’re possibly using the wrong driver such as the MME driver instead of an ASIO driver for DAW usage.

If possible too, could you post a recording of the noise with a post detailing EXACTLY what you were doing please?

If you are trying to run multiple Virtual instruments, effects etc, it could be that you’re just exceeding the limits of your system, modern soft synths such as Pigments etc CAN use A LOT of system resources.

It’s happening everywhere doesn’t matter if I’m on a DAW or listening a song or watching a video from YouTube, the noise is still here.

I tried MF on another device and the noise is present no matter what I do.

It’s not affected by any recording noise or plugin.

@shoniwum

1 - Please can you post an audio file with the noise in it as asked, different issues can cause different types of noise which is often useful in diagnosing the issue, ‘static’ is fairly meaningless and we need to be specific here if we’re going to be able to help you sort this issue out.
Buffer issues will sound VERY different to a failing component.

2- Is the noise purely coming through your headphones or is it present in recordings too? If it’s not present in the recordings, then something is wrong in your monitoring chain, but the only way we will know this is if you go through this as suggested.

It could be down to a number of things and the questions i’ve asked will help to track the issue down.

If you feel the unit is genuinely faulty, which is a possibility, and it’s still under warranty, you could contact the seller for a replacement or refund; depending on any consumer rights you may or may not have in your part of The World.
