Disclaimer: The issue seems random and it is only associated with the Minifreak V VST. Assume I have already reset FL Studio and the Minifreak hardware and VST back to defaults. (Software is up to date and am running current firmware.)
Problem: FL Studio will lock up, similar to PC CPU over consumption. (Actual CPU usage stays around 20%, or whatever “normal” CPU usage is based on other plugins, per song.) If the track is playing, it will continue to play with no audio lag. The FL Studio GUI becomes unresponsive or extremely laggy, but the MiniFreak V scopes will continue to run realtime as if there is no problem.
Conditions that seem static:
-
The track must be playing and utilizing Minifreak V. This issue started after installing Minifreak V.
-
This issue is often triggered on any kind of VST GUI state change; ie: A new plugin is loaded; An existing loaded plugin is opened or focus is changed to another plugin that is already open.
-
This issue is sometimes triggered on transport state changes when MiniFreak V is in focus.
-
The problem is independent of the Minifreak being connected to the PC or not.
-
The problem is platform independent. Crashes happen on my PC and laptop.
!Speculation ahead!
This problem seems to happen more often while Minifreak V is running in conjunction with plugins from UVI. I am going to test this theory further.
(Windows 11 Pro; FL Studio 24)
My computers are stable and run heavy compute loads on a regular basis, outside of music work. This issue only happens when running Minifreak V.
