Minifreak V crashing after latest update, sample missing, can't install sound banks

I’m using FL Studio 24 in Windows 10. After updating to the latest version of Minifreak V it crashes every time I select a wavetable for the oscillator.

It also keeps telling me it can’t find a sample called Basic Waves.raw.

Also, since I reinstalled to try and fix it it won’t let me install sound banks that I own. When I click on them it says installed but they’re not there.

I’ve already submitted a ticket, but I wondered if anyone else was having the same issue.

Hi @Synth,

I don’t know why there are single wavetables to the left in the sample window. To me that location is incorrect. It’s true Minifreak V crash, if you select those. Looking in the samples folder, then the samples are located in two places it look like.

If you select the same samples to the right in the sample window - (which should be the correct place i would say) - then all works here - no crash.
I also have no crashes when using the next/ previous arrows.

I can suggest you contact Arturia support about this.

I just discovered it’s not just when selecting the wavetables. Playing while I browse presets is causing a crash as well. Not just in FL Studio either, it’s crashing Reaper to desktop.

Anyone know how to access our support tickets? I want to edit mine to add extra info.

I noticed tonight that all the VST2 V-Collection instruments crash FL Studio if I move my mod wheel controller. VST3 works fine.

In Ableton there’s no crash but the mod wheel doesn’t seem to be received properly. Again, VST3 is fine.

Haven’t tried Reaper yet.

I believe this is all subsequent to the last big update which involved all the V- Collection - everything seemed okay beforehand.

I got no issue with any of my other Arturia synths. But I just reinstalled Minifreak VST2 which is what I was using, and installed VST3 as well. VST3 has the issue with the wavetable oscillator not making the right selection, but it’s not crashing.

However, when loading certain presets I get an error message telling me it can’t find a sample called Basic Waves.raw. I checked the sample folder and it’s in there. I also can’t install sound banks. This update really messed everything up.

Ah okay. Sounds like a different issue then. I’ll raise a ticket.

Just for completeness, a reinstall of FL Studio sorted my issue.

Arturia support identified the issue and supplied me with a new version that fixed the wavetable crashing and the wavetable selector. It was related to the sample folder.

I am very pleased with the support. Fixed within two days. I know devs who left bugs untouched literally for years.
