Dear Arturia Group.
In Standalone mode at a buffer of 512 I’m getting pops. Nothing else is open. Minifreak cpu usage can be 10% to 30% at most and it always happens. Bumping buffer to 1024 solves it. M1 cpu clock speed is rated at most 3.2 MHZ. Minifreak requires 3.5 MHZ. Can anyone verify the M1 doesn’t cut it? Thanks, David
Welcome to the forum.
I would of thought the M1 could cope with that more than adequately…
What audio interface are you using and is it running latest driver?
Do you experience problems with any other audio apps/synths?
As a test, you could try completely uninstalling and reinstalling Minifreak via the ASC
Thanks for your response.
I as well thought the M1 could handle.
Just playing the standalone without a controller or with I still get pops.
The pops I’ve timed and are always equal in duration depending on whatever patch. (Different durations per patch)
Just using headphones from the computer.
I’m at a loss.
And the answer to my question/suggestion?
HI @Pixie61 and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
It would be worth you looking at @Funtmaster advice he’s given you in this thread before we progress any further.
From what you’ve posted so far it does appear that something is using more system resources than it should be, possibly running other apps in the background at the same time?
Addendum. You’ve solved my dilemma.
Thank you very much.
Your comment about audio interface made me realize I was listening with my headphones through a Dragonfly Cobalt DAC. That was the culprit.
Now to enjoy.
Thanks again.
David
