MIDI to CV/Gate conversion not working with DAW

I want to use my KSP to convert MIDI (via USB) coming from my DAW (Ableton 12) to CV/Gate signals to my Eurorack.

I use one track: Track 1, set to MIDI channel 1.

When I play the keyboard, Eurorack is triggered with the correct pitch.

But when I set up a MIDI track in Ableton, channel 1, Output to KeyStep Pro and play MIDI data from the track, nothing happens.

Track setting: MIDI From: KSP MIDI IN, Channel 1.

External Instr. setting: MIDI To: KSP MIDI OUT, Channel 1.

In de general settings, I’ve tried every combination of “TRACK” on or off. With both On, you get a feedback loop.

What am I doing wrong?

Don’t know if this routing / conversion is possible, but what are you trying to accomplish with this setting?

I want to convert incoming MIDI (from the DAW) to CV/Gate signals. According to the manual, this is possible:

10.6.4. CV/Gate Signals: DAW Configuration
The KeyStep Pro can be used as a MIDI to CV converter. Send note-related data from the
MIDI tracks of your DAW to the KeyStep Pro via USB or MIDI In. If the MIDI channels match
(that is, if they are set to 1, 2, 3 or 4), the MIDI data will appear in analog form as control
voltages at the CV/Gate outputs of Voices 1 to 4.

But I cannot get this to work in Ableton (neither in Cubase 14).

[Solved] Stupid me… The MIDI In channel in KSP of Track 1 was set to 2!

Set to 1 it works.

In Ableton, in the External Instrument, MIDI To is KSP MIDI OUT, channel 1

On the track, MIDI From is No Input, Channel 1. Otherwise you get a feedback loop.

In the General settings, both TRACK 's are ON.
