Midi / split

Hello , I don’t speak english very well so … sorry .

I want to use my PB 12 with another Plugin through the MIDI .I want for example play a pad with the lower and use the Higher to pilot a Plugin or a Desktop but I don 't want to hear the sound of the PB in the Higher part of tne Keyboard . Or conversely To play the pad of another instrument with the Lower part of the keyboard whithout hear the sound of the PB Lower .

I don ’ t know if it s possible to cut the Vocal engine of the PB on only a Part of the PB ( Lower or Higher ) I don’t find in the settings if it s possible .Somebody can bring me a solution ?

Thanks

Hi @Yves and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

I do not own a PB12 myself, i wish i did though! AMAZING synth!

I’ve had a good scan through the manual and cannot actulaly find what i was looking for.
I would assume that it’s possible to just turn the output down to zero for each of the sounds assigned in your ‘split’ on your PB?
If this is so, i would just turn the sound down which you do not want to hear, if this is possible of course!

Sorry i can’t give you a definitive answer, i know there are a few PB12 owners on the forum though, so hopefully one of those will be able to clarify.

HTH!

Thanks , But I can Just turn down the sound on ALL the Keyboard and not only on the Higher or the Lower part … and that 's though I wanna do Precisely , Hear only the Lower or only the Higher and Pilot an external MIDI Instrument on the part who is mute .

Thank for your answer .

What I woud do is setting the VCA level to zero on A or B, depending on your need.
For example I would set both filter levels to zero on A or B and set timbrality to “split”.
There are lots of different ways to achieve that of course.

Thank you very much !
Indeed it s a really Good idea with the VCA on zéro for A or for B .I will try as soon as possible …
It Would be more easy to have the possibility to mute A or B with the Split function isn ‘ t it ?
Thanks a lot :grinning:

VCA level is not enough, as it allows the harmonics to be audible.
Turn down both filter Levels for the quiet part - A or B or both - works in spilt mode as well of course
