Midi clock hangs with new firmware

Hello!

I’m experiencing a bug with recent firmware (2.5.20) on my KSP.
Synced with DAW, the clock hangs quite a lot. The “white” marker that runs over the steps freezes, comes back and runs normally after a second or three, but freezes again and it comes back… repeats.
Using Cubase 12, Mac Mini M1 Sequoia.
I tried to send the clock with Ableton Live instead, but it would not change the behaviour.

I dont think I’ve noticed the issue with firmwares from 2.0 until now. I’ve done factory reset on the KSP, downgraded and tested all firmwares after 2.0 but it still freezes.
I’ve figure out 1.3.7.745 seems to be the one that is working for me, at least for the short time I’ve tested last night. I should also test it “dawless”, and connect just the PSU and use internal clock - haven’t tried that yet.

The KSP itself has with 2.0.XXX and 2.5.XXX also shut itself down. Been restarting the unit and sometimes it freezes on the startup, like the first “Vegas mode” LED light-sequence on startup, it freezes the LEDS that runs from left to right, and the display could show “war of the ants”. Been trying just the PSU instead of the USB but this problem maintained. Only to be starting up and working perfectly the next day, and now it has been stable “power wise” since 2.5.20.
I think I am the third owner of this KSP (bought it from a colleague) so I don’t think there’s any chance of warranty etc, but I don’t know.

Let me know if there are any other details I need to post about my system etc.

Cheers and have a great weeknd!

HI @frekvens and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

Yeah this sounds a little strange, i think the best course of action would be for you to contact Arturia Support directly to see if they can help you.

Ps,
Please make sure to subscribe to The Arturia Newsletter to be the first to know about the latest from Arturia.

Thank you!

I created a ticked! So lets see what they’ll think.

After further testing tonight I just learnt that it doesn’t power up at all with the DC supply :frowning: I’ve got the right one with 12v, 1.0 amp - so either is the power supply broken or if there are blown capacitors inside that handle the PSU is my second guess.

But still it powers up with only USB, and still “stable clock” with the 1.3.7.745 fw.

Well I’ll await the answers from the support group.

“It’s so much fun with gear” is a term I frequently use, when I want to use the gear for creativity but ending up a whole night do de/re-solder shit  Now, just before I started testing the KSP, I fixed an opamp in an old Elka EK 44.
