I like this a lot. I am a big fan of Sakamoto and I think this is a lovely tribute.

I really enjoyed that too! Lovely build and some great laid back sounds.

Thank you, Funtmaster, I stated with the Twin Peaks bass and when I finished, I thought it reminded me of Sakamoto, whose music I also enjoy.

Thank you bigblip, they’re not always laid back, but I think the world needs some laying back.

francoise,
Intro sounds like guitar with tremolo effect; I like it. Nice piano. David Bowie is my favorite male singer and has made plenty of great music, though I am not familiar with Sakamoto. Though I think your song sounds quite nice! It is relaxing. I heard plenty of French speaking when I was in French Polynesia recently. A beautiful language, even I if don’t understand most of it. Perhaps you could check out my latest song.

Hi Aaron, how are you?
I’m back from the country with limited Internet access.
You probably know Bowie and Sakamoto played together in Merry Christmas, Mr.Lawrerence. The Twin peaks guitar preset is inspiring.
French Polynesia, lucky you!

French and English borrowed many words from each other. I taught French-English differential linguistics to teachers of both languages. There’s so much to say.

I will surely listen to your new song.

I am doing well, thank you. Sounds like you did some traveling too? This month I swam with a bunch of Black-tip Reef Sharks and a ~20 foot long “baby” humpback whale, so that was exciting. I just watched a few minutes of “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence” on youtube, but they were speaking Japanese, and the subtitles were not in English. I don’t think I’ve seen much of it in the past.

Sakamoto’s music is usually slow paced if I remember well. The ski resort I travel to is 30km (20miles) from Quebec city. On the subject of Mr.Lawrence, with climate change, we’re having white sharks in the St-Lawrence river (a very large river).

Back in the 70’s, I bought a book called The Shark Attack Files. It told of a (most likely) Great White shark attack in New Jersey, where it happened inland in a creek/river. Assuming the attack you are speaking of happened in Canada, that is news to me. My wife’s grandparents were both hardhat divers. The grandmother was being lowered into the ocean, and a 12 foot long Great White went to bite her feet. She kicked the shark in the nose with one of her lead boots, and the shark reacted by jumping out of the water, and swam away. People in a nearby glass-bottom boat clapped; they thought it was part of the show! This was at Lover’s Cove, Avalon, Catalina Island, California, USA. I have snorkeled there many times, but the biggest shark I have seen there was a skinny (4-5 feet long) Leopard Shark; not considered dangerous.
