Lots of hiss in left headphone out

I’m getting lots of hiss in the left channel of the headphones out. Doesn’t sound like RF to me – it’s white noise.

I’ve tried several pairs of headphones. I have (I believe) set the headphone output impedance correctly. Any ideas what could be causing this?

HI @Quadrant

Could you post some pics of how you have your routing set up in the 16 rig’s control panel please?

I do not have one myself, but might be able to see if there’s something not set correctly, or another user may be able to, before we go down the support route, if needed.

Will do, but at the moment I’ve having another difficulty in that I can’t seem to save presets. Also all the preset names are not showing. I’d had an issue yesterday and uninstalled and reinstalled ACC and the driver – may need to try that again first.

Thanks for responding – I’ll post again here when I get everything else sorted.

OK, here’s everything I can think of that may be helpful. Audio out of my speakers sounds fine.

Hi Quadrant,

Sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing.

Regarding the issue with preset names and saving, you might try reinstalling the AudioFuse Control Center to see if that resolves the problem.

As for the hiss in the headphones, it could potentially indicate a hardware defect, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

In any case, I strongly recommend contacting our support team. They’ll be able to assist you further and, if a hardware defect is confirmed and the unit is still under warranty, they may arrange a replacement for you.

Thanks. I’d done exactly that, and it did solve the problem.

I’ve got a support request in, so we can consider this closed here on the forum. Appreciate everyone who read it, whether or not you responded.

I’ve been working with Andres for over 2 weeks now and despite sending it twice he’s claiming he’s never gotten a response to his request for specific information. I’m beyond frustrated as I haven’t been able to complete a project in that time.

Please pass on the following:

I’m on Windows 11 version 23H2 with all current updates.

Running at 48KHz 24-bit
AudioFuse is connected directly to my PC and is the main interface.

Yes, headphone out still hissy withing nothing connected, including the speakers.

Happens from each DAW and with Windows system audio. In fact, the hiss is there with no audio input AT ALL - even with the computer switched OFF.

I use Ableton Live 12, Bitwig 5.2.7, and Cubase 14 — same problem with each. Sample rates match the settings above.

I’ve reinstalled the firmware (version 1.3.5.0) with no improvement. (EDIT: now version 2, but now front panel USB host doesn’t work.)

I’m afraid I don’t have another computer to test on.

Sorry to hear about the issues faced.

Note that as a workaround, the front Outputs 3 and 4 can work as additional headphones outs.
You should be able to finish your project this way, plugging headphones in front output 3 for example, and setting the AFCC as follow:

In the meantime, please send me a private message, detailing your email address used to contact our support team, and I’ll see with them.

Kind regards,
