I did try Yabridge and Carla both had issues with Wine or something else…
LinVST was a winner. I am very happy with it so far. Pigments was the only reason i was so
determined to get it working. Now i may try other Win$ VST.
I was going to go with a Linux only setup but now, i can be adding a few more things
Oh ? So you would advise LinVST against Yabridge ? I thought Yabridge was the way to go ? Never tried LinVST. For the moment I mostly use (works great) the Arturia instruments standalone on Linux through WINE.
(BTW, I improved my latency a lot by switching to 96 KHz and “Pro audio mode” – had to increase the buffers by 2 but the actual latency is divided by 4 overall !)
Edit : it’s a bit a pity Arturia doesn’t bring some kind of minimal Linux support, considering their Astrolab runs Linux
FWIW, here all Arturia plugins run great with Yabridge 5.1.1, Wine 9, Debian Trixie or Ubuntu Studio 24.04 LTS… Arturia are among the most reliable Windows plugin running in Wine here.
If others were like this…
I would not advise against using Yabridge, No…, if it works for you Great.
Mario found a formula the works. it depends how you set things up.
I gave up to easy i guess. LinVST is just another way of getting a working system.
Standalone always worked for me but not VST running in a DAW .
I am impressed .
