Keylab pads and Ableton drum rack

Hi,
I just got a Keylab 61 Mk3 (and have ordered an 88!). Loving it so far.
I’m just wondering what the easiest way to set up the pads so that, when a drum rack is active, they trigger the samples rather than launching clips?

ChatGPT tells me that I need to set up a custom User preset and set each pad to the note I want to trigger.

I’m surprised the pads aren’t activated when in Device mode but perhaps I’m missing something?

Answered my own question while clicking around - There’s a ‘DAW’ bank that controls the clips and four other banks that send out midi notes.
