Keylab MKII 88 do I add a powersupply or switch over to midi i/o

I have this issue of the Keylab not receiving enough power so the connection in the computer (Mac OSX Snow leopard) turns off. It greys out in the midi section of the OS. Should I add a powersupply to the keyboard or should I power it over USB and connect over 5 pin midi? (But do I loose Mackie control/hui then? )

I sometimes find connections can drop if plugging in via a USB bank or extender. Is this the case for you?/try plugging the USB in direct if it’s routed via something else at the minute.

I moved it out of my hub. I gave it the front connection of my Mac Pro.

I do have a double usb power supply so I can connect the keylab MKII 88 over 5 pin midi in and out. Because I have a 10x10 midi (digidesign) rack interface.

I’ll give it a final go over USB.
