Arturia has released firmware update 1.2.0 for the KeyLab mk3 series (49/61 mk3 and 88 mk3).
This version includes several fixes, in particular in relation to the sustain pedal.
See the Info / Release notes for details.
You can update your KeyLab mk3 directly from the MIDI Control Center online update. Please note that before updating your KeyLab mk3, you first need to update the MCC to its newest version (at least 1.21.1.209).
The firmware update file is also available to download from the Arturia website here to perform an offline “update from file”.
I find it absolutely fabulous to release a supposedly high-end MIDI controller at this price range without a functional sustain pedal, and even worse, to take over a year to fix the problem,
with no firmware improvements whatsoever.
After three firmware versions of the MK3, the workflow is still inferior to that of the MK2 and MK1 models.
I’m extremely disappointed by this major shift, which is even rather dishonest in terms of legality and the terms used in the product’s advertising. I’m very disappointed by the lack of consideration shown for the brand’s flagship controller, especially considering all the products released recently.
we need midi channel per mode for the keyboard please… it’s a shame for midi workflow in 2025
thinkig about someone who buy many arturia gears and want to build a midi setup with a synth per mode, logically he get the keylab to control them, and then he realized that he cannot change the midi channel of the keyboard for each mode, what does this guy will think about that…?
I dont even talk about all the daws bugs fixed since many month and not released, maybe they will come soon…
does Arturia is doing to many things in the same time and forget the basics? one year later building this firmware does developers like their job? does the brand want to do politic with workflow? how much do we have to pay to get a midi channel per mode now we got sustain pedal?
Totally agree. This has transformed my Vi Labs Modern D which was unusable before on my 61 MK3… Took them so long to remedy the sustain pedal issue that I would seriously consider not purchasing Thier keyboards in future. Bit of a joke really.
Like the mk3 so far but i have to agree and thought i was doing something wrong… i cannot have more than one instance of analo lab and use the controller for multiple instances… why cant we change midi channel on the controller i have to use my MPC which i dont want to usebto only have pad performance… this is definitely a let down… will this be adressed sonner than later like a hot fix?
From my perspective, this should have been a priority for the latest update, but as we can see, that wasn’t the case.
The pedal issue should have been urgently fixed within a month of its discovery after release, but no, we had to wait over a year. I don’t have much hope.
This USB keyboard is completely out of sync with the MIDI implementation.
Furthermore, this forum isn’t fulfilling its purpose because people seem satisfied, or they don’t vote or react. It’s a real shame, it gives Arturia the impression that people are ok with that, like when you see the thousands of views for the sustain pedal issue and the lack of response, it’s no wonder nothing is progressing…
we can change lot of things if everybody on this forum decide to complain by email to Arturia the same day, for example, never forget that customers make brands…look like they forget it here and at Arturia’s development also… together, harder, better, faster, stronger!
