Keylab MK3 and cubase integration

I got the Keylab 49 mk3 and have been working on it for a few days and correct me if I’m wrong, but is the cubase integration/ plugin mode not really there at the moment?

I’ve installed the Cubase script and have got the transport working along with metronome and loop but that is about it. Switching between Arturia mode and DAW mode doesn’t seem to make a difference.

In addition to this, when in cubase I have a few tracks with Analog Lab and some V collection synths on them however, when I move to work on a synth on say track 8, after a few seconds, the screen shows the first instance in the track list (eg. Analog Lab, track 5).

On the main monitor screen, the correct VST is showing but on the MK3 the wrong synth shows. Is this the case at the moment or am I doing something really wrong?

I’m on the verge of returning it as whilst it is a stunning looking controller, it feels like the software side is junked in comparison to the KK S88 MK3 which I’ve also been working on.

Sorry to hear your having issues but it reinforces my decision not to get Keylab 3 as I have Cubase & it’s such a shame they released a unit not as competitive as the competition.:grimacing:
Lot’s of issues with lot’s of DAW’s.
You have my sympathy.
Love the software though.

Mike

Yep…a quick search on here will show you that the Cubase implementation is very far from what was shown in the marketing videos.

That said…a lot of the functionality does work, just not as straightforward as it could be.

For me, I’m keeping my MK3, as once you get round the quirks it is genuinely a great controller.

Some tips that worked for me were enabling MidiRT if you are on Windows, and not expecting too much from Arturia mode, apart from on Analog Labs.

Ah crap. I was hoping to find enlightenment from happy users, but it looks like all Cubase users are in the same boat. Add to that, the Canadian price I paid for the 61 Mk3 is almost $900 and it makes me even sadder.

I had left a post on this exact subject, as well (about 2 months ago now). I can only hope that the driver updates that support told me had been requested of the devs will make it to us one day. The hardware, itself, is superb. The software aspects were outright misleading in the promotional material. If you can live with the stripped down Analog Lab (saving presets in the original instruments, and pulling the presets into the very limited Analog Lab), then it is OK. But, I would REALLY appreciate being able to do what I was lead to believe that I would be able to with Arturia instruments… It IS a software issue. If Arturia actually looks at these posts, then it should be apparent that it isn’t just a minor issue… I WANT to love this thing. But, I have a feeling that I’ll never get another product that Arturia makes if this isn’t resolved at some point in the near future.

I have now returned the Keylab MK3. I must agree… The promo video is the single most misleading marketing video I have seen to date! Shame as the harware is stunning. I’ve actually got better integration with the Native Instruments A49 using Komplete Kontrol. It’s rock solid and does what it’s meant to. Sorry Arturia. Hopefully in the future it will work out.

Sorry to hear that.
I have a Beatstep which works fairly well with Cubase quick controls on Analog Lab & individual instruments.
Also does well with Native instruments.
