KeyLab 61 MK3 causes Mac mini M3Pro io buffer issues

I am not sure if I have got a dud or considered DOA unit. If I plug the KeyLab 61 MK3 into the Mac then I can no longer play any compositions inside of Logic. It gets about 6-7 bars of playing then crashes with the buffer I/O error saying to increase the I/O buffers on the Mac Audio Unit.

What I find interesting is it will not work with a buffer I/O below 1024 and even then it only works some times. If I turn off or unplug the KeyLab from the Mac, then everything works perfectly fine, even with an I/O buffer as low as 64. Now it seems strange to me that just having the midi keyboard plugged in and effectively doing nothing. I am not playing or even touching the unit. it causes the CPU to effectively overflow and cannot play any songs that I have made. Yet the work flawlessly when the unit is not plugged in or turned on.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? Is there some setup function that I am doing wrong?
