Key step Pro (FW2.5) connectivity to Eurorack? I’m a beginner, so…please keep that in mind replying

So a number of forums I’ve searched have suggested the KSP as an excellent controller/sequencer for a Eurorack setup. So I’ll begin by explaining that I am still in my beginners phase of learning how to build basic patches on the rack itself let alone, trying to add external connections to the rack, but I needed a way to play different pitches so here I am. Now I know some terminology, some I don’t. I know the universal rule of “always go from input to output, the importance of voltage balancing on my bus board (Rackbrute 6U), but not much farther than that. Can anyone take the time to either provide links to videos or step by step instructions on how to patch the KSP to my rack? My goal is to eventually be able to create ambient, swelling soundscapes, with some modulation. Something akin to musical scores done by Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor. Another goal I have in the same vein of producers is to be able to create those tense, suspense building sequences like those found in the scores of Girl With a Dragon Tattoo or Interstellar… I will link my rack from modulargrid.net so that anyone kind enough to offer advice has an idea of what modules I’m working with. https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/racks/modulargrid_2725653.jpg

Hi there, the Keystep Pro is indeed a staple controller in the Eurorack community. On YouTube in modular setups you will see it pop up all the time, and it was made with this CV connectivity in mind.

Just type “Keystep Eurorack Tutorial” or “Keystep Eurorack Setup” on YouTube and you have a goldmine of content.

Stuff like this for instance:

Happy patching

Thats a really good video… also lookup Monotrail Tech Talk on YT, his tutorials are the best I’ve found…

Just a thought for your setup I have the Keystep Pro as the master CV clock to my eurorack. I also have a Korg SQ-1 which i started with before the Keystep. I was going to sell the SQ-1 but instead had an idea to use it as an additional clocked modulation source For example, the pitch output from the SQ-1 can be patched to the filter frequency, and then step sequenced.

Its a cheap addition to your set up, and very hands on \ tweakable. next to the keystep. I havent got Pams but assume you can take a channel from Pams to the SQ-1, play around with diff time divisions, etc.
