There is a great (old) article in german Keyboards Magazine how to recreate with the Mini V one of the legendary lead sounds of Jan Hammer.
I tried to follow along and build the preset in Mini V (V3), but I didn’t achieve the desired sound. I don’t know exactly which mistake(s) I made.
Apart from that I wonder how long it will be possible to use the Mini V (V3), because now we have the Mini V (V4) which has a different sound engine under the hood.
I just wanted to ask if anybody is or was able to recreate the sound that you can hear in the Keyboard Magazine Examples and if you would be willing to share the preset.
Thank you in advance! I will share here my Mini V (V3) preset. I think it also doesn’t sound bad, but as mentioned before it is not the sound you hear in the sound examples. You have to be aware of the fact that the first sound example shows just the clean lead sound which comes completely from the Mini V. The second sound uses Distortion which comes from Native Instruments Guitar Rig, but I think there are many ways to get the necessary Distortion also with the effects which are available in Analog Lab. I think in general the secret for those synth sounds emulating a distorted E-Guitar lies in right amount of distortion, compression, EQ and sometimes a Flanger Effect can also bring you close to the Jan Hammer Sound.
