It is not possible to use all ADAT channels

So I ran into a serious problem. I have 2 ADAT devices. MCHStreamer, for working with an iPad (USB sound card with only ADAT channels), and an Expert Sleepres ES-3-6-7 kit, ADAT DAC/ADC for eurorack. When they are all connected together, the last connected ADC emits periodic “glitch explosions” with all channels.
When I turn off one of the ADCs, everything goes back to normal. This really messes up the entire planned workflow. How can this be fixed?

It is possible to use all ADAT channels (2x 8 inputs + 2x 8 outputs), but the digital clock of all devices must be synchronized, in particular devices connected to an ADAT input of the AF16Rig.
The glitches you are mentioning sound like at least one of the devices’s clock is not sync’ed, or there is a clock loop somewhere in your setup.

Since neither the MCHStreamer nor ES-3/6/7 have a dedicated wordclock input, they both have to get their clock from their ADAT Input (both set to sync to ADAT In).
That means that the AF16Rig has to be the master clock (set to Internal), sending clock to both devices via the AF’s ADAT outputs.
If both devices are behaving correctly, then the ADAT signal that they return to the AF16Rig should be in sync.
But if one of the devices is not getting its clock from its ADAT Input (or is not sync’ing its output to the incoming ADAT clock), there will be glitches.
So, check your ADAT connections and clock settings.

Out of curiosity, have you tried swapping which device is connected to ADAT In/Out 1-8, and which is connected to ADAT In/Out 9-16?
If so, does that change anything?

I think I’ve found the problem. It turns out that MCHStreamer does not remember the clock setup after disconnection. And there is no way to change it on the iPad. I need to write to the devs, maybe they can fix the situation somehow. Thank you for you quickly reaction)
