I’m looking for inspiration on how others have mapped Omnisphere and/or Keyscape with their KeyLab mk3s.
Having all the controllers and pads gives you a lot of possibilities, but coming form the hardware synth realm, I suspect I might be somewhat stuck in my thinking.
This is really for KeyLab 88 mk3, but there is no tag for that?
This question is not really a controller question. A midi CC can control what you map it to. So i suggest you ask in a forum for Omnisphere and Keyscape. That can give you a better change for a reply on this unless you ask about a Arturia instrument.
In generel one can say, that the best way to map a instrument os to map the controls you use the most - perhaps especially the ones you use for performance.
In generel pads are used to control Notes or buttons, and knobs and faders to control parameters.
You will not make keyboard controller templates for each instrument you use, but mostly map the limited template/s you have to instruments. You have to learn how each instrument that you use can be - or is mapped, and then decide what to do.
I don’t use Omnisphere or Kescape, so i can’t help with them.
And yes it’s not like using hardware where all the controls are dedicated to speciel functionality or parameters.
It can take some time to get used to and find your own way.
Learning about midi CC and other midi messages can be a good idea, if you don’t know about it.
Thank you for your response.
I do know how all of that works, I just feel that I have so many controllers and pads and I have just mapped a handful things, and was curious how others have mapped their Omnisphere.
BR,
Mathias
