I would like to see a Minifreak update

Hi MiniFreak Dev-Team,

I see so many feature- and bugfix requests in this forum and I’m really looking forward for a new update / release on the MiniFreak. Do you have plans for this, or maybe I missed it?

I know that you are hard working and I don’t wanna put pressure on you. But I would like to see maybe more smaller software feature increments with improvements. Please keep the ball rolling, we are all looking forward for some improvements on this beautiful instrument.

Thanks in advance.

They dropped the ball years ago.

I disagree.

I think Arturia are doing a pretty good job of keeping the Minifreak fresh and indeed, relevant. It’s must be difficult to decide the upgrades, sifting thru what seems logical (and achievable) while trying to satisfy user demand, all the while trying to be innovative. While I am in favour of new features. I would rather have fewer, really good ones that I can have time to explore before the next great new feature arrives.

But that may be just me. After all, I drive a 10 year old car and just bought a cassette deck made in 1979…

They promised us wavetable and sample import last year. So they dropped the ball.

Arturia officially launched The Minifreak in October 2022, since then it’s had SEVERAL MAJOR updates, far more than many other synthesizers in its price range, or indeed in ANY price range.

As has been said MANY times on this forum, Arturia rarely, if ever, make binding, or other pre-announcements, ‘soon’ is a highly subjective term too, as i know this term has been used with regard to this and possibly one or two other types of functionality.

That all being said, for a synth that’s only been on the market for just over 3 years, which has had 3 MAJOR updates already, far more than the, for its time HUGELY expensive Korg Trinity+ for example, which cost four times the actual price back in 1995; it’s more than a little unfair to say ‘they’ve dropped the ball’, they really haven’t!

Arturia are actually under NO OBLIGATION to actually provide ANY updates for it, yet they KEEP adding new engines, new effects, new functionality and, there seems to be no sign in letting up.

One or two people have had posts removed and been sent messages asking them to tone things down a little.
Posting the same, completely unconstructive posts every few months is completely pointless, it’s not going to speed things up as any company will have its own roadmap of priorities for its resources.
Again, posting the same thing over again is a waste of time and effort.

I own a hardware MF myself and, of course, i’d like it updated (remember Arturia DO NOT have to update it if they do not want to, they are under NO OBLIGATION) too, but meanwhile, i have other instruments that i can make music with, The Minifreak is PERFECTLY useable as is, NOTHING stops me from making music with it, so i keep myself occupied making music meanwhile.

HTH!
