How to send and receive audio between Mac & iPad seamlessly?

Hello,

I recently received my AudioFuse Studio.
My goal is to send and receive audio between my Macbook Pro and iPad seamlessly with the Audiofuse connected to my MacBook Pro.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. I used the Send and Return outputs on the AudioFuse, but I encountered some echo.
It’s possible that I’m not using the correct cables.
  2. I also tried connecting my Teenage Engineering TX-6 mixer via USB-C to my iPad, with the following setup:
  • AudioFuse headphone out → TX-6 input
  • TX-6 output → AudioFuse Phono line inputHowever, this setup brought me close to feedback (larsen), requiring me to keep the mic level on the AudioFuse very low, which led to suboptimal results.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to achieve my setup effectively? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Cellicello. Welcome back.

Why do you need to use an interface between the computer?

I don’t think i get what you want to do with the connections and gear you are trying to use.

If you’re getting echoes or feedback, that suggests there’s an audio routing loop configured in the software. You’ll need to be sure that you aren’t sending the iPad’s output back to its input on the Mac and vice versa.

looking at the AudioFuse I have some questions as to what you are looking to achieve.

  1. Are you looking to just send from the iPad and send/receive audio on the Mac? or are you looking to bi-directions connections between both the iPad and Mac so you could record on the iPad as well as the Mac?

  2. what software are you looking to use on the iPad? are you using something like AUM or Audiobus ?
