If I load the patch Auto Melody by New Loops and look at the sequence I see that the sequence is written in C minor. If I push the key C3 it plays the sequence as written. If I play C4 it transposes up one octave and if I play A3 it transposes the sequence to A minor. Pretty cool!
But I don’t see a connection that indicates that a midi key should start the sequence. Is that just assumed? And is it just a feature of MiniFreak V?
Also I can’t find mention in the manual of transposing from C minor to A minor (or any other root note). Again is that just the way MiniFreak V was implemented?
Yes you can say it’s assumed. - This is quite normal behavior for sequencers in synths in generel. But there can be other options.
No.
No it’s not just MiniFreak. But you can find options in synth.
As you say playing another key transpose. The Sequencers root tuning is C. So create your sequence in C tuning, then the sequence will be play in the tuning of the note you play.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions in the forum.
EDIT: Perhaps i should add, that you can allways use the Tuning parameters to change tuning too. But if you play jeys, then the transpose is determined in intervals from C. EDIT END
