How do I open the different "Views" in AL Pro?

They say “everyday is a schoolday”, or words to that effect. And with Analog Lab V/Pro, this is certainly true. I like the convenience of it, compared to opening each V collection instrument individually, especially in a live situation. My first gig with a working band is coming up soon, and I need to be ready for calling all my “songs” asap. And this is where AL falls down. Especially trying to access the different “views”. Or, I should say, how TAF do I access the different views? The manual has instructions on using the different elements in each view. But it doesn’t tell how to access the views. And the AL interface has no buttons to access them. I suppose I will eventually stumble across them in time, but it would be nice to do so from the main page. It is really frustrating.

I am not sure if you mean by “Views”, the different windows in the ALV GUI?

If it is, you can access the different parts of AL by clicking on the |||\ symbol to the left of the area displaying the selected patch at the top of the main window. From here you can access Home, Explore, Soundbanks and Store in the left hand panel. You can also create and edit Playlists here which can comprise patches in a Songs - ie a set list. I hope that all makes sense and is what you are referring to.

Under ‘settings’ (the cog icon on the top right) you can determine which ‘start page’ shall be used once AL is launched.
I have set this to ‘explorer’, bcause I find it most convenient to reach all other views.

When just performing with specific instruments, I love to use the ‘playlists’ I created for the specific purpose and I begin my session by choosing a playlist and then just switch to the predefined presets, at the same time with a nice view on the screen.

As a lucky owner of the KeyLab MK3, I even see the images of the instruments on the display of my keyboard and can easily switch between the instruments and control all their parameters with the knobs and sliders.

Well I sat down at my home pc, headphones on (so as not to annoy my wife) and had a good hard look (I don’t want to say “deep dive”, as I’m an adult) at AL. I figured out, all on my own, how to edit presets, create layers and splits , and - most importantly - save the edited presets to a playlist. From the playlist I can click on “Go on stage” and I can select my presets, and I can see which instruments and fx are used in each preset. I can now translate that to my macbook tomorrow, and I’m good to go for my first rehearsal this week.

And as a proud owner of both a keylab mk2 and mk3, I can see the pics of the instruments on my mk3, and a blue backlit line of text on the mk2 :joy:
