Help Please - Arturia Built-In Sampler and some other Quesitons

Good Morning everyone,

I have had the Arturia V 9 Collection for quite some time and still need some info on a couple of subjects that I have posed about before but still do not understand.

  1. Does the Arturia Suite come with any kind of Sampler software that I can use to import .wav or .mp3 files and key map them to a certain zone or specific key on a keyboard? The reason I ask is I have struggled for the longest time thinking I may need an actual synth like a Kronos or Fantom (just listing as an example) to be able to do what I want to do. I currently have a Juno DS 61 that I like very much, but get lost when trying to hook it up even to play sounds from the different instruments I have access to. Do you need a DAW to simply play patches from the V 9 collection or not?

  2. If above option is not available can anyone suggest a sampler software instrument say for beginners to novice, as I did at one time have a Korg Triton LE 76 so am familiar with loading samples into a keyboard if needed, but again in the world of VST’s I find myself feeling lost and am missing out playing al these instruments I purchased etc.

  3. Does anyone have any tutorial videos for any items I listed above or know of anyone that does.

  4. If I went the route of purchasing an Arturia controller, I’d at least like it to be 61 keys, but with some different options Arturia has to chose from, can I get some comments or recommendations on a preferred model and again, keeping in mind I’m just a bass player that plays key occasionally, would like to access sounds and maybe organize them for playing out at a gig, and to have the ability to play samples I create. Again, samples would mainly be “one offs” assigned to specific notes on the keyboard and not looking to sample an instrument across the entire keyboard if I’m making sense.

Thank you so much in advance for any/all info you can provide to help me possibly start to enjoy what seems to be a really great product.

Hi @OtisRocks64

If i understand your wants/needs correctly, then it sounds like The Emulator II-V would be PERFECT for you!

As samplers go, it’s pretty basic by today’s standards and is my own ‘go to, down and dirty’ sampler for that very reason… that and it sounds GREAT!

If/when you feel more adventurous, you can layer, stack, apply various envelopes and effects etc on top of all that, so it’s a pretty nice package imho.

HTH!

Welcoem back @OtisRocks64.

I agree CMI V can be a good option like @matjones suggest.

I can add this.

The following Arturia instruments in V-Collection 8 can all handle user samples:
CMI V
Emulator ll V
Mellotron V
Synclavier V
It’s possible to add samples so they cover a range of notes.

All Arturias instruments can be played as Standalone instruments outside a host like a DAW. How efficient that will be for you depend on your needs.

Which controller is best for you depend on your needs.
Keylab MK 3 has some things that the Essential does’nt have. Aftertouch, Release Velocity, more modulation inputs for pedals and such, and better keys as far as i know. It also have a better screen. There are other differences. I don’t think one is easier to learn to use than the other.

I suggest you look at the product web pages and in the manuals. Manuals can be downloaded from the product pages and from the main download page.

Using software is different from using hardware. Both have it’s Pros and Cons.
