Help! Minifreak V is not showing as an AU in Logic Pro :(

Hi.

I’m not seeing Minifreak V in the list of AU instruments in Logic Pro on my MacBook. I’ve tried reinstalling it several times, both from the ASC and the direct website download, but no (spice &) dice. All my other installed instruments from V Collection X show up fine.

Does anybody have any idea what could be going wrong? I’m pretty good at general troubleshooting but don’t know where to start with this.

All software updated to the latest versions at time of writing, as follows:

MacBook Pro 14" 2023 (M2 Pro)
macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
Logic Pro 11.2.2
Minifreak V 4.0.1.6181

Thanks.

Hi @axolocelotl. Welcome back.

Have you checked the AU format is installed on your computer?

If it is installed, then can you rescan the plugin in Logic? I don’t use Logic/ MAC.

Have you tried to reinstall Minifreak V? Be sure the AU version is being installed.

Firstly. Is the plug-in visible in the Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components folder?

If it is, can you see it listed in Logic Pro/Settings/Plugin Manager on the Logic menu?

If it is there but not checked or shown as failed, try Reset & Rescan Selection after selecting it. If it is not in the list or is but the above did not resolve the issue, try Full Audio Unit Reset. This will reset ALL plugins and may take some time depending on how many plug-ins you have installed.

If that does not resolve the issue, manually reset the Logic PlugIn cache by following these steps:

  1. Close Logic Pro X.
  2. Using macOS Finder go to “~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/” (without the quotes).
  3. Manually delete the com. apple. audiounits. cache file (to force a complete new plug-ins scan).
  4. Re-open Logic Pro X.
  5. Reboot the computer (mandatory).

Out of interest - is the standalone working and also, can you open a Minifreak patch from within Analog Lab?
