No.
But you have to set the application up to respond to your controller, if that’s what you mean.
How have you set it up?
You can download manuals and read how to set the standalone application up.

Feel free to ask further and provide relevant informations, if you do.

I discovered the problem my m-Audio keyboard needed a factory reset. now all is well and instruments are responding well to midi.
