I like it but it seems a shame you were unable to migrate the content of the legacy forum to here. There is so much knowledge in that place from established âfonts of knowledgeâ such as LBH, and mostly it will all be lost to history.
Welcome @Jon_Vincent !
The content of the legacy forum is a goldmine of information, so donât worry it will always remain accessible!
Just check this article: How to find the legacy forum?
Hi, The UI has become very user-friendly now, as it has the same atmosphere as the official website!
MUCH more modern and snappier than the old site.
Oh i knowâŠ
Hola.
Lets see how the new forum plays out - too soon to tell, but in one way a welcome âupgradeâ.
Arturial rules and managing a forum is never easy
Hola @HarlequinX weâre glad to see you here!
We hope this brand-new interface will help everyone to find the information easily and keep the collective knowledge accessible.
Letâs keep exploring
Can you make logins more persistent? If thereâs a way to configure it to be more relaxed generally or as a user preference thatâd be great. Iâd prefer to stay logged in on multiple devices for several days at least.
Otherwise the new forum looks great and I like that youâre using the Discourse platform.
I was thinking, is there any chance the forum will implement those tasty 1990s-2000s forum emoticons? I am talking about these dudes:
Is there a list of the allowed attachment file types in this forum?
I noticed in âAbout the Your sound categoryâ it says âwe only allow posting formats from our software and hardware instrumentsâ. I just tried uploading a mbpz file (MatrixBrute patch) and I couldnât select it. Is it an intentional omission or an oversight?
Can someone else help out flagging the spam? Iâve used up all my attempts (and time) cleaning up the forum this morning. Or can we get better guards up to stop these posts coming in
When I was a volunteer mod on the old forum 50% of my time was deleting spam. Could be as many as 100 posts a day, at its worst. For several years this new forum seems to have kept spam at bay but itâs starting up again.
Arturia have always shied away from opening their forums only to verified purchasers, and I understand why, but I think itâs something they should reconsider. With the advent of social media thereâs a thousand-and-one places where non-owners can interact with owners and ask questions. This place, as the official forum, should be for the exclusive use of verified purchasers of Arturia products.
The website âknowsâ which members are owners and which members arenât owners, based on the fact myself (and other past purchsers) are automatically presented with any special-offer prices, after we log in. A simple banner on the Community page explaining that, to help control spam, non-owners can browse but not post, would be all thatâs required. Any non-owners who feel excluded or offeded by that would be feeling that way entirely of their own choice.
I thought there were separate logins for the forum and main arturia site, with the purchases logged against the 2nd one?
@Jon_Vincent
Lol Yep!
Itâs not ALL glamorous models and champagne being an external mod
Just had to remove a whole load of bot posts/accounts.
Correct. And Arturia could even keep it that way if they wish, while still limiting âwriteâ access to the forum only to purchasers: all they need to do is move the forumâs âregisterâ page to an area on the main website that only purchasers have access to. Bingo: problem solved.
Hello,
this type of spam is totally heavy.
On FL Studio to reconnect you have to go through a window that checks first, then a code to access your account, why not place a captcha to avoid this kind of intrusion.
Need any help? I get a lot out of the forum so wouldnât mind adding something back in
Yeah same! If the admins are mostly located in North America and Europe, and you want some APAC time zone coverage, Iâm in Australia.
