Firmware update quirks?

My AL arrived last week with firmware 1.0.3, I finally updated to the latest 1.2.9 version yesterday, and I noticed a couple odd issues:

  1. The Part 1 and Part 2 buttons used to both be lit up as dim blue when using a “single” sound patch. After updating, now the Part 1 light is usually off. (The blue led still works in certain situations, so the light is not burnt out.). I guess you wouldn’t be using the Part 1 button anyways for a single sound, so maybe that’s a new feature?

  2. There used to be an option under Settings > Utility , to choose how the 10 physical Type buttons operated – either keep the last used sound in that category, or always start with the 1st sound in the list. That option no longer appears after updating to 1.2.9.

Just wondering if my firmware update went wonky or if these are really new “features”?

Hi and welcome!

  1. Yes, the Part1/Part2 buttons LED scheme has been changed.
  • If you are on a Single preset, the Part 1 button has no function, therefore its LED is OFF.
Pressing the Part2 button allows you to select a second preset to create a Multi (Split or Layer), therefore it’s LED is lit Blue (dimmed) to show it has a function in Single mode.
  • If you are on a Multi preset, Part1’s LED is lit Orange (dimmed) and Part2 is Green (dimmed). The Macros control both parts. But if you press either of the Part buttons, the LED will be fully lit and you can adjust the volume of that part, and use the Macros for that part only.
  1. Indeed, the Type buttons operation option has been removed (it wasn’t working properly anyway). It might come back in a future firmware update, once it’s corrected.

Thanks for the quick reply. (I was almost gonna try installing the update a 2nd time.)
Really hope they get those 10 Type buttons to remember the last used sound soon.
