[Features Request] Distinct SPLIT & LAYER button / Holding "MIDI Channel" button

Hi everyone !

I am pretty happy with my Keylab MK3 (used mostly dawless with a Verselab and a Minifreak).

I constantly use the SPLIT / LAYER feature. I have 2 workflow improvements suggestions :

  1. sometimes I need to LAYER several channels, sometimes I need to SPLIT the keyboard. What is annoying is that you have to choose. The “SPLIT” button turns into a “LAYER” button depending on its settings.

It would be great if we could have BOTH buttons. A “SPLIT” button and a “LAYER” button.

  1. When used along with the SPLIT or LAYER feature, it would be cool if we could hit “Midi channel” and 2 (or more !) keys to several midi channels at once. (then order in which you hit the channel key would define if that’s the left or the right part of the keyboard).

2b) I would even love if it could enable to layer even more than 2 channels !

If have other things misc on my mind

  1. it’s cool we can send any MIDI CC when mapping the buttons. But sometimes, we need to send several of them in a row (typically 2). For instance, switching the bank, then switching the instrument.

  2. the transport buttons do not work with my Verselab. But they cannot be configured manually.

  3. there are frequently inconsistencies between the state of the sliders and the instrument. Would a “panel” function be possible ? (as on the Minifreak) Also, I guess the MIDI protocol does not allow to “ask” for a value so that the Keylab can set / display the actual value of the instruments before first altering them.

Thanks for your attention
Take care !
