[Feature Requests] Coming back at them!

Hi,

I’ve been using the Polybrute for about 3 years now and my enjoyment in making music with it remains absolutely unchanged.

It’s an amazing synth which enables me to program sounds which I wouldn’t even have thought possible to do with an analog synth. With it I can do things which are supposed to belong exclusively to the digital world. And the successive firmwares have truly extended its capabilities.

Yet there are still things I wish so much it could do. I Believe my requests won’t sound unreasonable, some of them being somewhat old. At least Arturia might tell us if what I’m asking is feasible or not.

Here they are :

  1. Ability to have the envelopes triggered (at least the Mod Env) by the LFOs (at least LFO 1). This one is a long time request.
  2. An ADR (Attack - Decay - Release) mode for the envelopes.
  3. An option to have a fixed pitch for each of the VCOs, whatever the notes played on the keyboard.
  4. A larger set of different Attack and Decay curves.
  5. An option to display longer the parameter changes (they disappear as soon as a knob or a slider is released).

I would just love to have requests 1 and 2 implemented !

Regards,
Michaël

I agree! Both that the PB remains a fabulous instrument, and also that your wishing for some realistic features isn’t unreasonable

1 and 2 would be cool for sure.

3 can be done by assigning three mod slots from “Key /Seq” to oscillator pitch, with amounts set to -60, -60 and -8. This gives a negative key tracking that nulls out the pitch control. There are some template patches here to try it out.

For 4, you may already know the trick of envelope feedback, using the mod matrix to assign an envelope back to it’s own (A, D, R) segment controls.

Hey DrJustice, thank you so much for the templates ! It opens new creative options to me !

I know indeed the envelope feedback workaround and I use it sometimes but I wouldn’t call it comfortable and always easy to use.
