Hi, I’m a new Matrixbrute owner and I love the experience so far. I did however realize that it cannot be transposed in semitones from the global settings which would be an issue if I want to use it with my live band. I can’t just transpose the whole instrument on the fly when I need to play a song in a different key.
It would be much appreciated if the Arturia team could add this in a future update!
HI @Giovanni and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
I’ll mark this up as a feature request for you so our team are aware of it…
Meanwhile, a couple of options spring to mind…
You could always bite the bullet and learn the songs in the new key, or, if it’s just a semitone up or down, you could use the fine tune control, as in the pic below from The Manual
Thanks, I came to the same conclusions after tinkering around with it for a bit. For now the solution that works best for me would be to put the master fine tune all the way to the left to get -1 semitones and do the same with the fine tune of the oscillators to get the desired -2 semitones in total. Let’s hope our vocalist doesn’t make us drop our intruments even further
I second that! I use mine as the heart of my setup when I perform my original songs. When my voice drops a bit I need to quickly detune everything by a half step or a whole step down depending on the situation. I try to detune the oscillators manually but it’s kind of a hassle when I have multiple presets to deal with.
Hi, not a Matrix Brute owner here, but I see why that would be a good feature. I’m used to being able to transpose all my keyboards when we play live gigs. It would be a nightmare to learn all the 50+ songs we have in multiple keys, I just don’t have the energy or time for that. Also we have two singers who switch songs sometimes when they don’t feel like it, so when our female singer comes on she asks us to pitch up her songs by usually 4-5 semitones to fit her range. Can’t imagine surviving without the transpose button as much as it might be a shame to admit
