[Feature Request] Monitor volume, headphone volume, MIDI control

I’ve taken the plunge. Added 11 IK Multimedia monitors to the 16rig so I can run 7.1.4. Its wonderful.

My 16rig is rack-mounted and its a bit far from my listening position. I desperately want to map a MIDI controller to have control over things like:

  • monitor level & mute
  • headphone level & mute
  • bass management on-off
  • mute/solo the immersive groups: Fronts, LR, C, Surr, Height, LFE, etc.
  • AFCC preset selection

I’m waiting for this as well! To at least be able to control the master volume from the listening position would be a godsend!

Basically… we need for the 16Rig what RME users have for their interfaces. A remote to control the software.

If we had an ARC-USB like device, that would be killer. I think it would sell well.

This was a rhetorical question.
What I was asking was if this type of controller would be suitable, if Arturia/the AF16Rig supported it.
I don’t think it does support it natively at the moment, although you should be able to map some MIDI commands to it.
Hopefully, this is the kind of controller that Arturia would make or at least support.

A few months later …

I’ve recently added the 16Rig to my studio, and generally love it. I’ll get on the bandwagon in requesting the ability to control the monitor section via MIDI. For me, it would be enough just to be able to mute and/or dim the monitors. Volume would be icing on the cake.

Alternately (or maybe in addition), a module for bitfocus Companion would allow me to add the mute/dim controls to my Stream Deck – I’ve found the MIDI module’s implementation in Companion to be less than optimal sometimes.
