Hi everyone,
I’d like to share a small feature request regarding the MiniLab 3 in DAW Mode.
Overall the integration works very well, but there is currently no visual feedback on the pads to indicate which track is selected. This makes orientation harder when working with multiple tracks.
Since in DAW Mode it’s possible to switch pad behavior using Shift + Prog (between playable pads/drum mode and Clip Launcher), this request specifically refers to Clip Mode.
A simple blink or highlight on the pad corresponding to the currently selected track, when the pads are used in Clip Mode, would greatly improve usability and visual orientation.
DAW Mode already knows which track is selected, so this seems like a small firmware-level UX improvement that wouldn’t require DAW-side changes or break compatibility.
I can also confirm that this behavior is missing even in Ableton Live, so the request is not DAW-specific but related to the MiniLab DAW Mode itself.
I’d be interested to know if other users feel the same or would find this useful in their workflow.
HI @stefano.studio29, and thanks for the suggestion!
I’ve slightly tweaked your post’s title, so the Arturia Devs will be more likely to see it.
HTH!

Thanks!!
I didn’t find anything about this feature on the forum.
Is it possible that no one else has this need?
I’d find it useful, especially in live sessions.
Anyway, thanks again.
Hi again @stefano.studio29
There are quite a few different uses for the ML3 of course, and each scenario often has its own set of requirements, then there are the requirements of each individual using them…
That’s not to say though that there’s not a feature that’s not been thought of, yet that might be a game changer for many people, these things often happen thankfully! ![]()
Please feel free to post any ideas you might have that you feel could make Arturia products even better, that’s part of what this forum is for after all.
