Currently you need to link two auxes to make a stereo aux which reduces four auxes down to two if your equipment is stereo. Auxes can be routed to multiple outputs, but if you need different mixes per send you are limited to two stereo auxes and one stereo cue. If would be nice if all auxes were switchable between mono/stereo. That would allow for two additional stereo auxes and give more flexibility - especially with ADAT.
I think they really should allow for more than 4 (2 stereo) auxes. I would grab the new X8 Out if this was possible, for real.
This has come up before and yeah the Aux limitations are really annoying and feel arbitrary given how cheap/easy digital summing is.
There should be 8 Aux channels (which of course should be pairable to give stereo). This way it would be possible to find a use for all the outputs.
The brochure for the 16rig includes the following claim:
> You might want reverb and compression on your vocals, distortion and chorus on your synths, and a dubby sprinkling of Delay TAPE-201 on your drum bus - no sweat
Is a bit misleading as it suggests far more flexibility than is practically possible. It might be theoretically possible if everything was mono and you chained the FX externally but if working in stereo and you want to be able to access FX flexibly, it’s really only practical to connect 2 analog FX devices.
It’s low compared to my previous interfaces. On Apollo x8 I had 4 stereo cues and my last interface Clarett+ 8Pre supported custom mixes on 5 stereo outputs. Besides this I think it’s a great interface.
Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback.
Although it may seem simple, adding more auxiliary channels actually requires CPU power, which is currently used for other features of the product.
However, I will take note of your request to see what can be done for future Arturia audio products!
Bests,
