[Feature Request] Improved FM Ratio Control with Higher Precision in Small Values

As a user, I would like an improved way to control the FM ratio, particularly for Two-Operator FM and other FM-related parameters. Currently, the ratio is adjustable from 0 to 100 with one-digit precision across the entire range. However, this approach has several limitations:

  1. Lack of Precision for Smaller Ratios: It is difficult to set precise values at the lower end of the range (e.g., 0.250 or 0.334), which are critical for creating distinct FM tones. These values cannot be accurately selected because the steps jump too coarsely.
  2. Unnecessary Precision at Higher Values: Ratios near the higher end of the range (e.g., 87.3 vs. 87.4) have minimal audible difference, making the fine-grain precision there less useful.
  3. Challenging Fine Adjustments: Adjusting to specific small values (e.g., 1.6) is frustratingly difficult, as the controls tend to jump over.

Hey @Gleb

We’ll leave this one marked up for you too, so The Arturia Devs see it.

Cheers!

Yes it would seem the need a more exponential curve approach to accomodate more levels of precision in the lower values and less precision in the high values.
