I dont suppose it’s possible to write a small feature that allows users to import and update their older instrument patches to the current version. Even if you do provide a disclaimer that some things wont translate.
Many of us have spent quite a deal of money and/or worked really hard developing our own patches on instrument versions that were made redundant. Ir would be nice to be able to simply update our patches so we can more forward on the new instruments.
It would also go a long way towards developer and user relations.
No, Simon means stuff like importing Mini V3 patches for use in Mini V4. Arturia’s devs would need to develop a patch updater tool for each one of their synths each time they release a new major version. I wish they would do something like that too, but they probably don’t feel it’s worth the effort.
EDIT: Or release a specification for the file formats and let us do the work!
Not just Analog Lab, but a earlier version of the synth…
Except that synth will sometime very soon fall out of compatibility with the DAW and/or OS. Using an older instrument now is setting ourselves up for problems down the track.
So a more permanent solution is required really.
