I’m Nab from Morocco. I’ve been using the KeyStep Pro since its release and absolutely love it!
it’s become a central tool in my setup.
That said, I’d love to suggest an improvement that would mean a lot to musicians like me: the ability to create and load custom scales, particularly for microtonal music.
In Morocco and many other regions, we use specific tunings and microtonal intervals that aren’t currently supported by the fixed scale options on the KeyStep Pro. Right now, accessing these scales requires expensive external tools, like standalone MIDI microtuners, which aren’t accessible to everyone.
Since this could be handled via MIDI, I believe it would be incredibly beneficial if Arturia could allow users to define their own scales or import tuning files (like .scl or .tun formats). This would open up creative possibilities not only for musicians from microtonal traditions but also for anyone exploring non-Western or experimental tunings.
Is there currently any workaround or trick to achieve this on the KeyStep Pro?
