[Feature Request] Add Arturia FX to Analog Lab

I have been using the ReasonStudio Rack Plugin for some time and am constantly amazed by how Combinators can be used to create patches comprised of a synth and separate FX in a single patch.

Given the ever increasing number of Arturia FX in FX Collection, I would love to see something similar from Arturia. I realise this is a big ask and may be impossible based on computing power alone. However, maybe the formula could be 1 synth and 2-3 FX to help cope with the demands.

Analog Lab would seem the logical place to host this feature.

Personally, I own the V Collection 11 and FX Collection and would love to create patches harnessing the power of both.

Yes, it would be nice! Especially if you’re using AL as stand alone. In DAW, there’s no problem.
I wonder why it was not done before; is there a unforeseen consequence?
Would it make AL too heavy?

Keep 'em coming!

The problem of setting up a synth and separate FX in a DAW is that saving that as say an Instrument as I can in Logic, it is not transferable to other DAWS.

I am thinking of something independent of any particular DAW.

I can well appreciate how difficult it may be in terms of proccessing power, but if it was one instrument and not a multi and restricted to say 2 or 3 FX slots, I think it could work.

Hi all,

This has been sugested since the Legacy forum. And mention in more topics since. So you are not alone.

I assume there will be more stress on the CPU. But everything is developing all the time. Other applications like Komplete Kontrol can use separate FX. But i can’t tell if Arturias applications is build to be able do it. I think it should be the individual instruments as well as Analog Lab that should have this feature if possible. Perhaps it will benefit the use of Arturias FX.
I don’t know if it will be a problem with Astrolab. Perhaps it will.
I assume Arturia consider possibilities for product development.

I remember one arguing it would be a problem when sharing presets. It’s true others also most own the FX to use the presets using them. But it will be a choice to use the external FX when creating presets.
But perhaps it will be confusing and annoying to some. I would like the option anyway.

There are many issues to overcome if it were implemented.

Regarding sharing patches: That could be handled the way it is now where some own the full licence for an instrument and some don’t, by restricting editing to a few pre mapped controls for the FX portion. Purchasing the full FX would then allow full editing.

I understand your point on Logic and DAWs, Funtmaster.
Still in standalone AL, Arturia FX are of no use.

I find that processing power can be managed a bit if users could manually choose the level of Quality for themselves. Not just with the instrument as a whole, but individual effects where relevant. The user could then manage it further by opting to use less oscillators, and less voices.

In some instances it would make more sense., such as with lofi. What point is it to limit an instrument’s capabilities to improve quality if that sound is only going to be crushed and aliased at the end of the day.

Let the user decide if they want a higher quality with the possibility of using less voices or a lower quality with the possibility of more voices but the sideeffect of some possible aliasing.

I agree, compromises could be made and the user choose them. Managing polyphony is the most obvious.
