[Feature Request] Ability to quick-browse presets

I know this is similar to another feature request I have commented on, but!

Being able to jump presets by 10 using something common in many other synths such as Shift + Preset Encoder would make preset navigation so much easier and more efficient.

Scrolling one-by-one through potentially hundreds of presets is very frustrating to the point of really hampering the creative process.

Even better would be a “bank viewer” such as in the TE OP-1, though I realize that is a much bigger ask.

A couple of smaller asks:

  • Ability to scroll through from last preset to first. This is pretty self explanatory as to increasing efficiency

  • A method for numerical preset entry, perhaps using the encoder for choosing numbers and clicking the encoder to select them. Another idea for data entry could be to use the keys in sequential order to enter digits.

The preset scrolling and inability to continue through the last preset to the first are my only complaints with this otherwise amazing device, and I know these are issues for many other users as well.

Merci mes beaux seigneurs et dames du synthé !

Hey @gauss

Thanks for the suggestion!

We’ll leave it marked up for you so The Arturia Devs are aware of it.

HTH!

I agree 100%. I just got my brand-new MF, and this kills the whole experience! If I had known this before… I have to go through all the presets to use the microphone with the vocoder!
Users are sharing their presets for the MCC so they are grouped so this tames a bit the issue…

This is a good suggestion. I would also expect to be able to browse by category, Browse by oscillator type would also be nice.

@tmoore @nalog

I’m glad other users such as yourselves are chiming in on this. Arturia seem to be pretty good about supporting their hardware and issuing firmware updates, so fingers crossed they see the engagement here.

I’m not sure the voting function on forum topics has any affect on visibility, but I have gone through and voted on other feature requests on this forum that I agree with; perhaps if you two do so on this post it will help?

Done. Thanks for the prompt. I always forget that you can vote.

Just adding my voice to the choir - this would be welcome functionality!

I am voting on all similar topics too…

Hi there, I would like to make some noise again about this topic… This issue really kills the MF experience, and MIDI center doesn’t help much. I am thinking of selling mine with almost no use! :sob:

Perhaps there is a way to control the presets through the minilab…
I have opened a topic asking for help:

Ok, I give up. I am keeping only a couple of dozen presets I like the most to tweak them, plus the vocoders. The rest are INIT for my own presets. Well done Arturia.

seriously. I can’t imagine this doesn’t drive other users mad.
Amazing synth, groundbreaking design, but scrolling presets makes it basically unusable from the front panel. Cool I can do stuff in software, but my setup is dawless; I only use a computer for final tracking/mastering. I don’t want to have to whip a computer out for preset management, or be confined to just a few patches bc scrolling takes forever.

It ruins the whole thing!! I have barely played it since I bought it a year ago. I am thinking of selling it, I couldn’t have imagined this basic thing is missing…

mine sits in a box in a storage unit. I don’t even have it in my house, that’s how little it enters studio rotation because of this.
